Ellen Hamilton is a Landscape Architect with a lot of Dutch heritage and culture as a passion. Twenty years ago through her work as chair of the Sinterklaas festival, Ellen became an active member and advocate. Sinterklaas is a traditional Dutch family holiday celebrated annually at the Van Wickle House during the closest Sunday to Dec 5th. Ellen also teaches and participates as one of the Dutch Dancers.

Ellen has served as a board member for 10 years, as well as volunteering for the Van Wickle House committee, 2nd Vice President, and now as Treasurer. A hard-working committee member, Ellen has baked more than her share of cakes and cookies to serve at numerous Candlelight concerts over the past 25 years.

She still is very active with the First Reformed Church in New Brunswick and the Friends of the Rutgers Gardens.. Additionally she is a member of the Raritan-Millstone Heritage Alliance, and used to be active with the Girl Scouts of America. Professionally she is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
