Living History Series Showcases Colonial Cooking

Please join us on Saturday, April 17 2.m. at the Wyckoff-Garretson, 215 S. Middlebrush Road, for our program on colonial open-hearth cooking given by Michele Dansak, who will give a “Historic Foodways Demonstration and Lecture.”  She is unit cook and seamstress for Outwater’s Militia in Hillsborough and has given many demonstrations at the Wallace House in Somerville.

Attendees will help Ms. Dansak prepare a historically inspired dish, and there will be a Q&A session about historic foodways while the dish is cooking. When it is ready everyone will share it. Mulled cider will also be served.

Attendance is limited to 30. Tickets are $10 each and can be reserved by calling 732-748-7657 or by
e-mail to MeadowsReserve@aol.com or chrisflp@aol.com

Due to more impending bad weather, with the likely result of slippery walking/driving conditions, this coming Saturday's Living History open-hearth cooking event at the Wyckoff-Garretson House has been postponed to the spring. A new date will be announced soon.
